ABOUT US

Our Vision: To create fully committed disciples of Christ.

We desire to be a church committed to meeting all people where they are and taking them on a journey where they never dreamed of being, a growing, confident and contributing member of the body of Christ.

Our Values: Our main point is Grace.

Helping others understand and accept God’s gift of grace is one of the main goals of gracepointe church. Accepting God’s grace through His Son’s sacrifice is life changing and we strive to change lives by helping people learn and accept God’s grace. We want people to understand that grace is given freely by Christ and is our vessel by which we experience a loving relationship with God and exercise that love by our growth and extend His love through service, to a lost and hurting world with the grace gifts He bestows upon us. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 12:6, II Peter 3:18)

Our Process: Connect, Grow, Serve, Share

We believe that every person who is at gracepointe would be on a simple path to becoming a fully devoted disciple of Christ. The four areas below explain how this process works. The structure is simple and Biblical.

Connect

Full devotion to Christ is our goal for every person who attends gracepointe. This starts in Sunday morning service, where we worship God through music, Biblical teaching and fellowship. We will help people to commit their lives to God through baptism, communion and prayer. We value church membership as a statement of commitment to serve together in fulfilling the mission of Christ. (1 Kings 11; 4; Philippians 2:1-11, 2 Corinthians 8:6-7). Membership is one of the first steps to connect with the church and begin to understand what it means to be a fully devoted disciple of Christ.

Grow

Once a person starts attending gracepointe and becomes a member, they will learn about and be encouraged to participate in activities to achieve spiritual growth. These include attending the service regularly, worshipping and learning about God and the Bible, having private Bible study, prayer and time with God, and by joining a small group. Life change happens best in small groups and there are a variety to choose from at gracepointe. We want people to be committed to continual life change by growing with other Christians in God-honoring ways. This is essential to spiritual growth. (Acts 2:42-47) We value opening our lives up to others for accountability (Acts 2:42-47, Philippians 1:6) and we believe authenticity is critical to spiritual and relational growth.

Serve

At gracepointe every member is a minister! The church is to operate as a body of specially gifted ministers who exercise their spiritual gifts in their area of passion. Every member of the church should be a part of a team of people who work together to do the ministry of the church. We value the diversity of gifts and passions of the church. (1 Corinthians 12:4, Romans 12) There are three aspects to this step of the process.

1. Serve Our Members

There are many opportunities to serve the members of our church. We comfort people who may have lost a loved one or are sick by bringing them meals, we help with yard maintenance or other odd jobs for those who need this type of help. And we support and love one another through whatever life’s storms may bring.

2. Serve The Community

The church will see its greatest influence in being servants to the community with acts of kindness for the purpose of showing the love of Christ. (Matthew 20:26-28) There are several ways we serve the community including visiting the Paulding County Youth Detention Center and holding worship services and providing their Thanksgiving meal. We are part of Engage Atlanta each year and we serve the community with several local churches in whatever way is needed. We send supplies to areas schools and help support people who may have gone through a natural disaster or tragedy. And we have special events and outreach projects for the community.

3. Serve In Ministry

There are many opportunities to serve at gracepointe. It doesn’t matter if you serve in an area you are familiar with, such as your occupation or hobby, or if you serve in an area totally different from your daily life – either way the key ingredient is having a passion for a purpose. We will help you find your purpose for God and to advance His Kingdom. We believe service is the key to receiving all the blessings God has for you. When you are passionate about Him, you will want to serve Him. We are a church that strives to be full of gifted and passionate people who have a servant attitude and compassionate heart.

Share

The next step in the process is share. As Christians we are told to “Make disciples of all nations”. We know that people matter to God and therefore, ought to matter to us. God is at work in the lives of people and we value building relationships with people in a way that would exemplify Christ and attract others to Him. This means we commit ourselves to taking the Good News of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. (Luke 5:30-32, Luke 15) We believe the church should remain culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. The Good News of Jesus Christ must be shared with the contemporary culture with sensitivity and grace. Sharing our faith and inviting others to church is how the process continues in a never ending cycle. As people come to gracepointe they follow the same steps in the process. Sharing their faith and inviting others is how the church grows. Billboards, signs, flyers, and mailers are helpful in getting people to visit, but a personal invitation by someone who is passionate about their church and serving God is the best method by far.
